It’s Too Darn Hot

IMG_7558b

This annoying and persistent French heat wave is adversely affecting both our appetites and attitudes!  Normally summer weather in Sens consists of moderately warm days and not more than 3-4 days of beastly weather.  I believe we’re now in the 3rd week of Phoenix, Arizona summer temperatures and according to the forecast, we can look forward to more of the same in the coming week.

For lunch on a particularly sweltering day I served crab rolls, beet, cucumber and celeriac salads from Le Village Gourmand.  To that I added cold, rare slices of leftover grilled lamb. That worked but I wish this heat wave would end 😦

Fortunately we’ve only had the two or three days of beastly weather (from France apparently) days here. You’ve got the right food for the heat and Cole Porter 😉

  5. On the other hand, coming from a life in one of the world’s top non heat wave spots,

  6. …as I was saying before WordPress’ new and useless comment space cut me off in full flow…..I love it 🙂

  7. Cor, the heat is still going? The only good thing about it was the lack of humidity. And shade. It only got too much for me over the charcoal grill. Of course we were on holiday so we didn’t have a schedule. I couldn’t imagine having to go to an office or work. You have to wear more than a swim costume for that!

  8. I was real hot in Paris several weeks ago. Brittany was just perfect.

We’ve been steaming in the Northeast of the United States, but I’m keeping my mouth shut after this past winter. Have a/c.
