Hotel du Nord, Paris and Sens, Burgundy

Have I mentioned that I love going to Paris?  Number one, our son is there.  Number two, it’s Paris.  Paris has everything; shopping, architecture, food, people, art and wine. It’s fun. Gastronomic And just plain interesting.  Take the Hotel du Nord; a funky,  little, unassuming hotel restaurant in the 10th arrondisement (neighborhood).  The walls are covered with vintage photographs and painted tiles. The clientele, eclectic.   I should have asked to see a room.  The food and wine is traditional bistro French and superb!  Go here!  The French do. But enough about Paris.   France is a country with many interesting cities, towns and villages.  Our town of Sens, is a bit less sophisticated then Paris, but still has it’s high points. Take for instance the village square; the cathedral on one end and the open market on the other.   The square is lined with restaurants and a great place to sit, underneath umbrellas for people watching, a smoke and/or a beverage. The Senoniase are a friendly, welcoming people, in an old school French way, which is a good thing. And did I mention that Chablis is a part of the Burgundy region.   Hello! I guess what I’m trying to say is go to Paris, yes you must, but don’t forget about France.
